The new Content Editor in Joomla 5 makes editing a breeze! One key change is the Image Manager, now found under the CMS Content Menu. This new location streamlines your workflow, making it easier than ever to manage and organise your images.
Here’s a simple step-by-step guide to help you insert and resize images like a pro:
1. Open the Content Editor
- Log into your website's Administrator Panel by adding /administrator to your website's domain name (e.g.,
www.yourwebsite.com/administrator). Once logged in, navigate to the Articles section to manage or create content.
2. Access the Media Manager
- Click on the CMS Content menu in the editor's MS Word-like toolbar.
- From the dropdown, select Media to open the Media Manager.
3. Upload Your Image
- In the Media Manager, click the Upload button.
- Choose the image from your computer and upload it to the appropriate folder.
4. Insert the Image into Your Content
- Go back to the Media Manager and select the image you wish to insert, and click on Insert Media.
5. Resize the Image (Optional)
- RIght click on the image in the editor.
- Open the Insert/Edit Image dialog.
- Adjust the Width and Height fields, ensuring Lock Aspect Ratio is ticked to maintain proportions.
- Alternatively, drag the image's corners directly in the editor to resize.
6. Save Your Changes
- When happy with your content, click Save.
